Fall 2019 Work Parties
What you need to know:
When you work at Dutch Hill as a volunteer, you are considered part of the US Forest Service staff, so you have to abide by their safety regs.
You must wear long sleeves, long pants (no shorts) and sturdy shoes or boots (no sandals).
Everyone on the mountain must wear a hard hat and gloves. We have extras to lend out if you don't have your own.
To operate a chain saw, you must have a US Forest Service certification. Contact us if you are interested in getting certified.
Bring your own favorite hand tool or borrow one from our stash. Brush cutters come in handy for some projects. No special certification is needed to operate a brush cutter.
Dutch Hill work days:
Sunday, Sept 22
Saturday, Oct 5
Satuday, Nov 2
All Dutch Hill work days start at 9:00 and end by 3:00 pm. Bring a lunch and water.
We will also be meeting almost every Tuesday afternoon to work on mini projects at Dutch Hill. We'll meet at 4 pm in early fall, then switch to 3 pm when the days get shorter. Contact us before coming out to be sure we've got a project going on the Tuesday you are interested in.
